The owner of an Irrigation business came to us because its customers were being scared off by terms and conditions that were too legalistic and over 8 pages long. The business was also involved in disputes because customers didn’t clearly understand normal industry practices for the work and therefore didn’t always correctly understand what work was included in the quoted price and what was not.

We developed a single page set of terms and conditions that could be used as a stand-alone document in the business, or as part of a new quotation template we developed for it to use. The quotation template provided plain English information to the customer about the issues that had been the subject of most disputes. Rather than have a separate contract for the customer to sign, we designed the quote template so that the customer signing to accept it created a binding contract based on the quote information and the business’ standard terms and conditions.
